Both speak of hardship, struggle, damage, and what seems like nothing good, but the dry season and floods make way for the desert to burst into bloom and as Isaiah says, “Shout for joy.” You may be in a desert place right now. You have things that you don’t understand, people have done you wrong, the promotion didn’t go through, you have a medical problem. You’ll be tempted to complain, get discouraged, and bitter.
